Kjeøya |

|
On the island of Kjeøy there has been fish brokerage since 1684.
Also the telegraph in Northern Norway was extended from Kjeøy northwards
in 1868. In the middle of the 1800s, "Great Rones", the local
fishing village owner, moved a large residence, piece by piece, from Bergen
to Kjeøy. This handsome manor house is a cultural treasure that
is intended to be preserved for future generations through the efforts
of Lødingen Coastal Society, as well as the local municipality
and the current property owners. |
