Excursions

Trip 1 – Sightseeing in Vestbygda
We visit Vestbygd Church, built in 1885. It is picturesquely located on a promontory with a stunning view out over Vestfjord. After a guided tour of the church, we will visit Hustad Farm, which is over 300 years old. In the outdoor storehouse, we will see some of the "everyday equipment" from yesteryear; and in the field, we will be able to admire in detail the sculpture "Eye in Stone". Coffee is served during the outing.

Trip 2 – Boat trip into Øksfjord
We depart from Fornes and set our course for Indre Øksfjord. On our way through these spectacular natural surroundings, we will stop and try our luck at fishing. In the midst of a symphony of nature, you can enjoy a cup of strong coffee, while the skipper and guide tell you about the local attractions. At Innerfjord, we will make a shore stop and take a look at an abandoned iron ore mine, as well as the famed Sigurd Slembe Cave.

Trip 3 – Deep sea fishing trip
We climb aboard the fishing boat at the pier, ready to set out to sea on our fishing trip. Together with our local expert, the skipper, we make our way out to the best fishing spots and try our luck. For the longer outings, it might be wise to take along a packed lunch. We will make coffee on board and enjoy our lunch together, giving the coalfish and cod a chance to relax.

Trip 4 – Mountain excursion
With our rucksacks bulging with supplies and our tents, we set out on a mountain excursion together with our tour guide. We head straight for the wilderness, where striking natural wonders await us. In the evening, we make camp by an idyllic mountain lake where the trout bite hungrily as soon as you cast your line into the water. The next morning, you wake up to a crackling campfire and the aroma of fresh coffee. Our mountain excursion continues, and we return to our point of departure later the same evening.
Trip 5 – A Visit to Kjeøy
The trip starts at the floating pier at Offersøy. After about a 10-minute boat ride, we dock at the pier on Kjeøy island and go ashore for an interesting guided tour of old tofts in the area. A visit to the old farm is also included. During the tour, our guide from Lødingen Coastal Society tells us about the island’s interesting history. A light lunch will be served at the old farmhouse.

Trip 6 – Killer Whale Safari
During the autumn, from the end of September to mid-January, the herring fishing season is at its peak here in our area. Large groups of killer whales come in to enjoy a "feast". We can offer individual safaris to suit your requests, with local boats and guides.
